Free Currency Converter
The Textor Free Currency Converter is a Javascript program which can be dropped in to any web page to provide site visitors with a simple, instant inline conversion tool.
It is available for free use on any website that satisfies taste and decency criteria. All you need to do is add some simple code to the web page where you want the converter to be displayed, and the script takes care of the rest.

Please Note:
In real life exchange rates fluctuate all the time, different rates are used by different banks, and they also change depending on whether you are buying or selling. Our converter is much simpler than this, it only updates once a day and uses the same rate for both buying and selling - it is just intended to be a 'ready reckoner' - but then it is free!
The Currency Converter comes in two flavours:
- A general purpose tool where you type in the amount to be converted, dial up the two currencies and the equivalent in the second currency is calculated.
- A special calculator to convert a fixed amount (such as the price of a product) into any other currency. You can set it up so that by default the visitor initially sees any currency you choose, so that a British site can for example always have the US Dollar price on the page automatically updated. Other visitors can of course select any currency they want. Just dial up the currency and the amount is worked out.
The converter uses Javascript and should work in any modern browser as long as it has Javascript enabled.
The General Purpose Converter
Here is the first flavour. The full converter drops into the page as block which is roughly the size of a banner ad.
The Special Currency Converter
Here is the second flavour. This converts a fixed quantity in any currency into the visitors currency of choice. It can be pre-set to convert into any currency as a starting position. For example the following converts a fixed British Pound amount of £45.67, and the visitor sees the US Dollar equivalent as a default.
Add the Converter to your Website
If you want to add the free Currency Converter to your website you need to do three things:
- Read and Accept the Conditions of Use. The code for the Converter contains a statement (hidden from site visitors) that your site accepts these conditions of use. The Converter will not work if this code is removed.
- Copy and Paste the code into your page. Note that it will only be visible to visitors with Javascript enabled browsers - so it is a good idea design your page so that it looks alright even if Javascript is switched off.
