The proposal

Discuss your client's brief with us if you think a content managed solution is going to be needed. We are happy to visit prospects with you to evaluate their requirement.

If in doubt give us a call - we won't propose something that is innapropriate because we want a long-term relationship with you. Pricing you out of the market is not going to do either of us any good.

Our proposal will document the requirements for the client as we understand them.  This is in a word document so you can copy and paste them into your final proposal to the client.  It is important that your proposal to the client documents what is being provided.  This is to avoid scope-creep later on.

We will produce a fixed-price budget which will normally be broken down into:

  • Development.  This is the time it takes us to set up the site, configure the templates and create the appropriate page types.  We may need to write some custom code for more unusual requirements. We base this on a price list which has costs for a number of different options, for different sized websites.  We are happy to let you have this document, but it is a guide only so please don't quote prices to customers without getting a quote from us first.
  • Hosting.  The cost of the computers on which the web site will be housed.  For CMS sites we base this on the size of the site, for ecommerce sites it is based on the size of site and number of sales you expect to make. These prices are also in our price list.
  • Support and maintenance. A small retainer on larger projects to allow us to make small changes and assist the client going forward.

The final part of the proposal is the fine print! The standard terms and conditions are fairly standard in the industry and should not be an issue.
